NEW FORMAT FOR THIS BLOG: ARCHIVING WRITINGS ON THE CELTICS

As indicated in a later thread on this blog, I have now established Sam's Celtics Forum, which will take over the function of Celtics-related conversation and debate that I had originally planned for this blog. This blog will now be devoted mainly to archiving and discussing the writings of myself and others on the Celtics, primarily involving Celtics history and tradition.

I'm leading off by posting three of my own works:

1. "SlipperySam's Personal History with the Russell Celtics"

2. "Here Come the World Champions...the Final Chapter in Basketball Camelot"
(a personal account of my trip and stay in L.A. with the Celtics as they won the 1969 championship)

3. My review of Bill Russell's book, "Russell Rules"

I hope you'll post your reactions here or on Sam's Celtics Forum, (which may be found at: http://samcelt.forumotion.net) because I'd like to encourage others to archive their Celtics writings here.

Thanks,

Sam

Sam, now that's what I call posting comments about the Celtics. Some of us are old enough to have had a real appreciation of what the Celtics meant to the city of Boston, to the players, to the league and to some of us that needing some role models in life. You are certainly one of them. I don't know if you remember, I'm sure you do, the periodical Celtics Pride. From to time I read them to refresh my "feeling" of why I love the Celtics so much. Your blog here allowed me a great sentimental break from a difficult career day.

THANK YOU!! Great article.

Sam,

I love the way you have taken blogging to a new level---forget about ephemeral. Archival is where it's at. The ability to inhabit a persona is also really interesting to watch unfold in blog-land. How cool is this blog (even for someone who was walking around in a Yankee's shirt at a pharma conference in San Diego a couple of weeks ago?) VERY.
